Based in Portsmouth, Hampshire. Shelley has been teaching for nearly 20 years in acting, drama, theatre studies and singing. Shelley works with young and adult performers on their technique and confidence, helping them to achieve their personal and professional goals. It is in the last several years that Shelley has focused on expanding her skills as a teacher to specialise in Contemporary Commercial singing and musical theatre performance for children and young adults.

Shelley takes her position as a teacher and coach seriously and is continuously developing her craft through research and relevant training events.

Shelley has taught many students of different ages focusing on technique, performance and exams. Exam work can be taught in Acting (stage and screen), Communication and Speech and Drama, or for singing, Musical Theatre and Contemporary. Shelley has many years experience of placing students in for exams through LAMDA, Rockschool, London College of Music (LCM) and London Trinity. 

Shelley has also taught A-Level Theatre Studies and was subject leader of BTEC Performing Arts at a college which covered many topics and skills within the industry. Shelley has many years experience in teaching Drama and Musical Theatre at many local Performing Arts schools where the focus was on technique and working towards big scale productions.

Shelley has directed numerous student examinations; plays including Be My Baby, The London Cuckolds, The Government Inspector, Equus. Directed musicals include numerous variety type showcases and Bugsy Malone, A Chorus Line, Sweeney Todd, Fame plus many more!

 

 

 

Shelley is a member of Musicians Union, The Association of Teachers of Singing (AOTOS) and The Society of Teachers of Speech and Drama and has an enhanced DBS and Public Liability Insurance.
